Children Of Osiris Wiki
Here you will find setting information, supplemental background info and other things you might want to check on now and again.
Broad differences between the game reality and the real world are:
Vampires, Werewolves, Mages and Sorcerers, Gods and Demons all exist, as do many other unique and bizarre entities. Most people do not believe seriously in these creatures, as they are far from common and stay out of sight as much as possible.
This could be described as ‘Steampunk’. The rise of groups of super-scientists in Europe has lead to leaps technology beyond those of our world. Air ships, mechanical computers, steam-powered robots all exist in at least a prototyping stage. In other parts of the world, technology has yet to catch up with the notable exception of China and the African kingdom of Oyo. Both of these countries possess a startling level of technology, and have repelled all colonial efforts by the West.
The game will be set between several alternative real-world locations and also in the spirit realm of Du’at. The game opens in late 1887.
The land of the dead, a parallel dimension overlaying our own where spirits of various kinds live.
Egypt and the holy Nile, a center of power for both Ra and Apophis.
A holy land for Christianity, Judaism and Islam. Powerful forces constantly vie for even more power in and around Jerusalem.
The streets of London harbour people from all over the world, and all walks of life. Most are just looking to get by, or just passing through, but the followers of Apophis are many, and they spread where they can find purchase: among the poor and disenfranchised.
The New World, a land full of hope, but divided by injustice. Even here, on the other side of a vast ocean, Set is making his mark on the dark belly of the growing beast.
